Frequently Asked Questions

Let's start with the honest number: what does one page cost with this cartridge?

The cartridge is $37.70 and rated at 8,400 pages, which works out to about 0.45 cents per page. For a shared imageRUNNER doing departmental volume, that is the figure that matters — not the sticker price, but what each of the thousands of pages passing through the machine actually costs to put toner on.

How long does 8,400 pages last on a working machine?

It depends on the department's rhythm. At roughly 1,000 pages a week, one Canon GPR-22 black cartridge (GPR22BK) covers about two months; a busier workgroup printing 2,000 pages a week will work through it in a little over a month. Either way, it is a sensible first order: enough life to judge the cartridge on real output before committing to a multi-pack.

How do we make sure the GPR-22 is the cartridge our machine takes?

Check the supply list for your machine — it names the cartridge code. If it calls for GPR-22 (GPR22BK), this is the correct cartridge. It is not interchangeable with the Canon GPR-40 (GPR40BK): the two serve different imageRUNNER models, and a machine built for one cannot run the other.

Is this a genuine Canon cartridge?

No. This is a compatible cartridge built to the Canon GPR-22 (GPR22BK) specification and sold under our own brand, which is where the price difference comes from. It installs the same way as the original and is rated for the same 8,400-page yield.

What happens if the cartridge underperforms halfway through its life?

Every cartridge carries a 1-year warranty, and returns are free within the first year if it fails to perform. The full terms are on our shipping and returns page, and the support team is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you would rather talk it through first.

When does it make sense to stop buying singles?

Once the cartridge has proved itself on your machine, the multi-packs cut the per-cartridge price in steps — the 2 pack brings it to $28.46, and larger packs take it lower still. Most departments run a single first, then move ordering onto the pack size that matches their reorder cycle.
