Frequently Asked Questions

What arrives in the box, and is anything else required to install it?

Four cartridges — one black, one cyan, one magenta and one yellow — each sealed in its own packaging. Nothing else is required: no tools, no adapters, no extra parts. You open the cartridge you need, install it in its slot, and the remaining three stay boxed until their turn.

Our practice is briefs, motions and exhibits. How far does the black cartridge realistically go?

The black cartridge is rated at 3,000 pages at standard coverage, and dense legal text sits close to that standard assumption — so a small firm can expect the rating to be a fair planning number rather than a best case. Each color is rated at 2,500 pages and, in a document practice, may sit largely untouched for months between color exhibits.

How do I double-check the part numbers against our machine?

Look at the labels on the installed cartridges. This family runs on black 106R01597, cyan 106R01594, magenta 106R01595 and yellow 106R01596. This set holds exactly those four numbers, so a quick label comparison is the entire verification — no model-year research required.

We scan files to the document system constantly. Does that shorten cartridge life?

No. Scanning moves paper past a sensor; it uses no toner at all. Cartridge life is spent only on printing and copying, so a firm that scans heavily but prints selectively will find its toner lasting longer than its paper volume might suggest.

If a cartridge fails during a filing week, what is the remedy?

Every cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, so a defective unit goes back for a replacement or refund rather than becoming the firm's loss. Our support team is reachable Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST to get the return started.

How fast can a replacement set get to our office?

Sets ship from the warehouse nearest you among our locations in IL, PA, GA and CA. Delivery windows and carrier information are published on our shipping and returns page, and the Xerox brand page carries this family's single cartridges for targeted restocks between set orders.

About This WorkCentre 6505DN High Yield Four-Color Set

The WorkCentre 6505DN in a small law office lives on deadlines: a brief at noon, exhibits by three, client copies before close. This high yield set is matched to that black-heavy reality — a 3,000-page black cartridge for the drafting load and 2,500 pages from each color for the work that needs to persuade at a glance. Verify the four part numbers against your installed labels, order at $72.30, and keep the next set in the file room so a filing week never hinges on a toner light.
