Frequently Asked Questions

Should I keep a spare of this cartridge on the shelf, or order when the printer stops?

Keep the spare. This is the high-yield 106R01535 cartridge for the Phaser 4600NM — 30,000 pages per unit — and printers on this platform rarely stop at a convenient moment. A sealed compatible cartridge waits patiently in a cupboard for months or years, and having one turns a toner outage from a two-day wait into a two-minute swap. Order the replacement spare when you install the current one, and the cycle never catches you out.

What will this cartridge cost us per page?

About 0.49 cents. That is $146.12 divided by its 30,000-page rating at standard 5% coverage. For a networked workgroup printer like the 4600NM printing reports and correspondence all day, toner at under half a cent a page is close to negligible next to paper and time — which is the practical argument for high-yield cartridges in machines of this class.

Which printers use the same cartridge as the 4600NM?

All of them on this platform: the Phaser 4600, Phaser 4620 and Phaser 4622DN families, letter-suffixed variants included. The 106R01535 — also called the 4600H — is the shared cartridge, so a spare held for the 4600NM doubles as emergency stock for its siblings.

How long does one cartridge typically last in this machine?

At 1,000 pages a month, around 30 months. At 2,200 pages a month, roughly 13 to 14 months. At 4,500 pages a month, about six to seven months. Your documents decide the fine print: text pages track the rating closely, dense graphics pages consume toner noticeably faster.

How should a spare cartridge be stored while it waits?

Sealed in its bag, flat, in a cool dry cupboard away from sunlight and heat sources. Write the arrival month on the box. Stored that way, a toner cartridge is in no hurry — there is no benefit to installing it early, and an unopened cartridge keeps its full rated life for when it is needed.

What if the cartridge turns out to be faulty?

It carries our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, like every cartridge we sell — including one that sat as a spare before use. The full policy is on the shipping and returns page, and support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
