Frequently Asked Questions

Four different part numbers are printed on the box — which cartridge goes in which slot?

Each position in the printer takes exactly one of them. Black is 106R01569, cyan is 106R01566, magenta is 106R01567 and yellow is 106R01568. The cartridges are keyed to their own color, so a cartridge physically will not seat in the wrong bay — if one resists, check the code on its label against the bay before applying any pressure.

How much printing does the black cartridge carry compared with the colors?

Black 106R01569 is rated at up to 24,000 pages, and cyan 106R01566, magenta 106R01567 and yellow 106R01568 are each rated at up to 17,000 pages, measured on the standard 5% coverage test page. Pages built from photographs, charts and solid color panels draw considerably more toner than that reference page, so treat the ratings as the scale for comparing cartridges rather than a promise for a particular month.

What printer is this set made for?

The Phaser 7800 family. Every configuration of that platform — base, network, duplex and graphics builds — uses the same four cartridge positions, so this one set serves whichever 7800 variant is sitting on the floor.

Is it better to change all four cartridges in one session?

Nothing in the printer requires it. Fit whichever cartridge the panel is calling for and keep the remainder sealed on the shelf. Shops that refresh all four at once usually do it to reset every gauge to full before a long production stretch, not because the machine demands a matched change.

How should the unused cartridges be stored?

Sealed, flat and out of direct light, in the room where the printer works. Toner is unaffected by ordinary office temperatures, and a cartridge kept in its bag holds its full rated life until the day it is opened — there is no clock running on shelf stock.

What cover comes with the set, and where does it ship from?

The set carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns; the full terms are on our shipping and returns page. Orders leave from whichever of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses is closest to you, and our support team answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This High Yield 4 Color Set

At $322.35, this set loads all four positions of a Phaser 7800 in a single order: black 106R01569 rated up to 24,000 pages, plus cyan 106R01566, magenta 106R01567 and yellow 106R01568 rated up to 17,000 pages apiece. It suits any 7800 that has reached the point where more than one gauge is running low. Singles and the rest of the platform range sit on our Xerox toner page.
