Frequently Asked Questions

Why does cyan usually empty faster than the other colors on this platform?

Because cyan is in more of the page than people realise. Every blue is built on it, every green is half of it, skies, water and shadows lean on it, and the deep composite blacks used in brochures and covers carry a cyan share as well. A shop can print a day of work that looks mostly black-and-white and still be drawing steadily on the 006R01222, because process color touches far more sheets than the full-color pages anyone counts. That is why, on this engine family, cyan is typically the first supply a busy operator reaches for.

How do I confirm the cyan cartridge is genuinely empty before I blame it?

Run the machine's own test pattern first: on a truly spent cartridge the cyan band prints weak or streaked across its whole width, while a cartridge that is merely misread by a sensor prints a full, even band. Then check the supplies screen — a reading near zero alongside that weak test band is the honest end of the cartridge. One more check costs nothing: open the door, reseat the 006R01222 firmly, and print the pattern again. If the band is still pale after reseating, the toner is gone and a fresh cartridge is the fix; guessing wrong the other way is how good cartridges end up in the recycling bin.

Can cyan changes be planned instead of landing in the middle of a deadline?

Yes — this is one supply that rewards a calendar instead of a crisis. Watch the percentage on the supplies screen rather than waiting for the stop message: when the 006R01222 drops into single digits, order the replacement and schedule the swap at the next job boundary. Keep one sealed spare on the shelf and rotate stock oldest-first, so the spare you reach for in March is the one that arrived earliest, not the one buried at the back. On a machine that earns money by the hour, that small discipline is the difference between a planned two-minute change and a press standing idle.

What does the cyan in a finished job actually cost?

Work it from this listing alone: the cartridge is $127.63 and rated at up to 34,000 pages, so the cyan component comes to roughly 0.38 cents per page at the rated coverage. Production pages carry heavier coverage than the rating assumes, so treat that figure as the floor for your job costing rather than the ceiling — but it is a floor you can quote from with confidence, because it comes from the price and the rating of the cartridge itself and nothing blended in from other supplies.

Which machines take this cyan cartridge?

The presses first: DocuColor 240, DocuColor 242, DocuColor 250, DocuColor 252 and DocuColor 260. The same cartridge also runs in the office flagships of the family — the WorkCentre 7655, WorkCentre 7665, WorkCentre 7675, WorkCentre 7755 and WorkCentre 7765. Whichever badge your machine wears, settle it with the label on the cartridge you pull out: 006R01222 there means this cyan belongs in the bay.

How should a spare cyan be stored — and what covers it if it disappoints?

Keep the spare sealed in its bag, flat, out of direct sun and away from heat sources; stored that way, a cartridge waits patiently for the day the press needs it. When its turn comes and it does not perform — arrives damaged, leaks, or fades far earlier than it should — it is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so the unit is replaced or refunded under the terms on our shipping & returns page. Orders dispatch from whichever of our four US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — sits closest to you, and our support team is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Xerox 006R01222 Cyan Toner Cartridge

One compatible Xerox 006R01222 cyan toner cartridge, rated at up to 34,000 pages and priced at $127.63 — about 0.38 cents per rated page. Cyan is the foundation color of process printing on this platform: blues and greens start with it, photographs are anchored by it, and even pages that look monochrome quietly spend it. This listing covers both halves of the family that uses it, the DocuColor 240–260 production presses and the WorkCentre 7655–7765 series. The remaining colors and parts for these machines are in our Xerox catalogue, and the cartridge itself is backed by a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns.
