Frequently Asked Questions
How many months of printing does one cartridge give our ML-2155W?
The ML-2150D8 under this listing is rated for 8,000 pages, and what that means in calendar terms depends entirely on your pace. At roughly 250 pages a month it would carry the ML-2155W for close to two and a half years; at 1,000 pages a month you are looking at about eight months; a genuinely busy shared desk at 2,500 pages a month would finish it in a little over three. The rating presumes ordinary text coverage, so graphics-heavy work shortens every one of those spans.
Does the toner-save setting really stretch the cartridge further?
It does, within limits. Toner-save or draft settings lay down less toner on each page, which is perfectly adequate for internal drafts and file copies, so a cartridge run mostly in that mode can pass its 8,000-page rating. Final copies, letters and anything leaving the building are better printed at full density. Think of the setting as a way to spend less of the ML-2150D8 on pages nobody keeps, rather than as free extra yield on everything.
What does a page cost on this cartridge?
At $80.57 for an 8,000-page cartridge, the arithmetic gives almost exactly a cent a page — 1.01 cents if you carry the division all the way out. That is toner only, before paper and power, but it is the figure that decides whether an older workgroup machine stays cheap to feed, and on this platform it clearly does.
Our prints have gone pale in patches — what should we check first?
Lift the cartridge out and rock it slowly from end to end several times, then print a few pages. Toner settles and clumps toward one side as a cartridge empties, and redistributing it usually restores even density for a while. If the pale patches come straight back, or never improve at all, the fill is genuinely exhausted and the ML-2150D8 needs replacing. Pale output that follows an exact repeating pattern down the page points at something other than toner level.
Which printers take this cartridge?
It is built for the ML-2155W this listing is named for, and the same ML-2150D8 is also listed for the ML-2150, ML-2150N and ML-2151N. The surest confirmation takes ten seconds: read the code printed on the cartridge you remove. If it says ML-2150D8, the cartridge on this page is its replacement, whichever of those models it came out of.
What happens if the cartridge turns out to be faulty?
You are covered for a year on both fronts: a one-year warranty on the cartridge itself, and free returns for a full year if it leaks, streaks or fades long before its rating. The details live on our shipping and returns page. Orders are dispatched from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
