Frequently Asked Questions

What does this pack bring the ML-1866's page cost down to?

About 1.65 cents a page. The box of five MLT-D104S cartridges is $123.96 — $24.79 per cartridge instead of $39.58 — so across the pack's 7,500 rated pages the toner cost per page falls by more than a third compared with feeding the printer singles.

Who actually uses 7,500 pages on a compact printer like this?

The ML-1866's natural crowd: a household running a small business from the kitchen table, a tutor printing worksheets weekly, a landlord or club secretary with monthly paperwork. At 300 pages a month the pack lasts a little over two years; it is a supply measured in school years and tax years, not weeks.

How much do I save against singles across the whole box?

$73.94. Five cartridges bought one at a time total $197.90; this pack is $123.96 for the identical cartridges. The saving is in the unit price — $24.79 against $39.58 — and it repeats with every cartridge in the box.

Can I split the pack between the ML-1866 and another printer?

Yes — the cartridges are standard MLT-D104S units that also fit the ML-1660, ML-1661, ML-1665, ML-1667 and ML-1675 printers, the ML-1860, ML-1864, ML-1865, ML-1865W, and the SCX-3200, SCX-3200W and SCX-3201 multifunctions. Our Samsung cartridges page shows the whole family. A shared box simply gets used in whichever machine fades first.

How should the pack be stored while we work through it?

Sealed, flat and indoors: leave each cartridge in its packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sun and radiators, open them one at a time and use them in order. Stored that way the fifth cartridge prints exactly like the first, even if months pass between them.

What cover applies to a pack like this?

Every cartridge carries a one-year warranty and free returns for a year, unit by unit. A cartridge that faults can be sent back alone at no cost — the details are on the shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
