Frequently Asked Questions

How many pages will I actually see from this cartridge in my ML-1667?

Plan on something close to the 1,500-page rating if your output is mostly ordinary documents. The rating assumes roughly 5% coverage per page; the ML-1667 printing letters, emails and forms lives near that mark. Heavy pages —dense reports, large graphics — finish the MLT-D104S sooner, and light short documents let it run longer. The rating is best read as the centre of a range your own printing sets.

The cartridge that came with the printer did not last long — why?

Because it was a starter cartridge, filled below the standard level so the printer could be sold ready to print. This listing is the full MLT-D104S replacement, rated at the complete 1,500 pages. Owners often feel the first replacement is oddly generous; it is simply the first full cartridge the ML-1667 has had.

What does one cartridge cost per printed page here?

At $39.58 over 1,500 rated pages, the figure is about 2.64 cents a page for toner. That is the standing bargain of Samsung's smallest lasers — inexpensive cartridges, modest page costs, no big outlay. Print heavily and the economics shift toward the 5 pack of the same cartridge, which brings the page cost down near 1.65 cents.

Prints from my ML-1667 are fading — is it the toner or the printer?

Start with the toner. Take the cartridge out and rock it gently from side to side: if solid black returns, the fill was simply low and unevenly settled, and you have more pages in hand. If fading persists after that, the cartridge is spent and a fresh MLT-D104S is the remedy — only if a new cartridge also prints faintly would the printer itself need attention.

Which other Samsung models take this cartridge?

The MLT-D104S is shared widely across the compact range: the ML-1660, ML-1661, ML-1665, ML-1666, ML-1670 and ML-1676 printers, the ML-1860 series, and the SCX-3200 multifunctions, as well as the ML-1667. A spare bought for one of those machines is a spare for all of them. Our Samsung range covers the wider line.

What cover applies to this purchase?

A year's warranty and a year of free returns: if this cartridge faults within twelve months — leaking, streaking or failing early — it goes back at no charge. The terms are set out on the shipping and returns page. We dispatch from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
