Frequently Asked Questions

Our MB491 MFP is shared by the whole office — how far does a 5-pack stretch?

Each 44574701 cartridge is rated at up to 4,000 pages, so the pack covers about 20,000 pages in total. On a shared machine printing and copying around 2,000 pages a month, that is roughly ten months of output; at 1,000 pages a month it is closer to twenty months. Count copies and received faxes in your monthly total, not just prints, because they all draw from the same cartridge.

What does the pack cost per page?

The pack is $68.28 for five cartridges — about $13.66 each. Spread over the rated 20,000 pages, that is roughly 0.34 cents per page. Buying the same five cartridges one at a time at $28.45 each would cost $142.25, so the pack saves $73.97.

How do we avoid the machine sitting empty on a busy day?

Keep the next cartridge within arm's reach of the MB491 MFP rather than in a storeroom across the building. When a cartridge is changed, note it — a simple tally on the supply cupboard door works — so whoever fits the last-but-one cartridge knows it is time to reorder, long before the last one runs dry mid-job.

Are these cartridges sold under any other number we should recognize?

The number to match is 44574701, printed on the cartridge and used across this listing. If a cartridge in your cupboard carries a different number, do not assume it will fit the MB491 MFP just because it looks similar — check the number first, or ask us during support hours, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

What protection comes with the pack?

A 1-year warranty covers every cartridge, and compatible cartridges carry 1-year free returns; the full terms sit on our shipping & returns page. One weak cartridge does not write off the box — returns are handled per cartridge, so the rest of your stock stays in service.

Can we order for several Oki machines at once?

Yes — orders ship from our warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and the full Okidata range is listed online, so a mixed fleet can be restocked in a single order instead of several.
