The WorkForce ST series (ST-2000, ST-3000, ST-4000) is Epson's Supertank line for small workgroups — color MFPs designed around very low running costs. All three models refill with the same Epson 502 ink bottles: 127 mL pigment black for up to 7,500 pages and 70 mL dye color bottles for up to 6,000 pages each (ISO/IEC 24712). WorkForce ST Ink — One 502 Family, Three Workgroup Models The ST-2000, ST-3000 and ST-4000 share the same ink system, which makes managing a small fleet simple: one bottle family on the shelf covers every machine. The ST-3000 and ST-4000 shipped with two full sets of 502 bottles in the box; the ST-2000 shipped with one — but all three rate refills identically: black up to 7,500 pages, each color up to 6,000 pages on the ISO/IEC 24712 pattern with Epson's methodology.
The 502 black bottle is pigment-based, which matters in an office: text stays sharp and resists smudging and water far better than dye black. The three color bottles are dye-based, the standard choice for bright color graphics and charts.
