Frequently Asked Questions

Our B1265DNF handles printing, copying and faxing at the front desk — how fast will it eat a cartridge?

Faster than the print queue alone suggests, because on this machine every function drinks from the same cartridge. Copies off the glass, faxes arriving overnight and ordinary printing all count against the 1,500-page rating. A front desk producing a combined 600 pages a month should expect a change roughly every ten weeks — sooner in months heavy with forms and dense paperwork.

What is the cost per page across all that work?

The cartridge costs $38.21 and is rated at up to 1,500 pages, so the blended figure is about 2.55 cents a page whichever function produced it. We show the number openly: compact multifunction cartridges are not the cheapest pages in the building, but one small machine covering three jobs, fed by a sub-forty-dollar cartridge, is the real economy here.

Why does the rating never seem to match our real life?

Because ratings are measured at a standard 5% page coverage — a short letter's worth of toner per sheet. Front-desk reality is application forms, contracts, ID copies and shaded documents, all of which lay down far more toner per page. Treat 1,500 as the benchmark it is, and judge your interval by your own page counter rather than the box.

Should a front-desk machine have a spare waiting?

Yes — it is the one printer in the building that cannot be down. A fax arriving to an empty cartridge or a customer waiting on a copy makes the case by itself. Keep the spare sealed, stored flat away from sunlight, and swap it in the moment output fades; the 331-7327 change takes minutes and the desk is back.

Is this cartridge shared with other models?

It is. The 331-7327 serves Dell's B1260 and B1265 families, including the B1260dn, the B1260dnf and the B1265dfw alongside the B1265dnf on this page. One cartridge for the whole family simplifies stocking wherever several of these machines are in service.

Is it a genuine Dell part, and what backs it?

It is a compatible cartridge, made by a third-party manufacturer to the 331-7327 specification rather than by Dell. It arrives with a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and full terms are on our shipping & returns page. Orders ship from IL, PA, GA or CA.
