Frequently Asked Questions

Why would a fleet manager standardise on the 331-9805 cartridge?

Because one cartridge code covers a lot of machines. The 331-9805 supplies Dell's B2360, B3460 and B3465 mono families — the B3465dn in this listing among them — so a site running a mixed fleet stocks a single black cartridge instead of a different box for every model badge. Fewer supply lines means fewer ordering mistakes and a spare that fits whichever machine runs dry first.

How long will one cartridge last across a busy site?

Each cartridge is rated at up to 8,500 pages. Put into the B3465dn — typically one of the harder-worked machines on a site — that rating might be consumed in a couple of months; in a B2360d on the same site it could last far longer. Plan per machine using its page counter, and let the shared spare absorb the surprises.

What is the fleet-wide toner cost per page?

Uniform, which is another reason fleets like this cartridge: $91.20 divided by the 8,500-page rating gives roughly 1.07 cents per page on every machine the 331-9805 feeds. One figure covers the whole mono fleet in a budget — no per-model toner maths to maintain.

How do I make sure I am ordering the 331-9805 and not a look-alike code?

Read the label of the cartridge coming out of the machine and order the code printed on it. Dell's mono range spans several similar-looking part numbers, and descriptions alone can mislead; the code cannot. On any B2360, B3460 or B3465 family machine, that label should read 331-9805.

One of our machines has started printing pale pages — where do we start?

With the cartridge. Remove the 331-9805, rock it gently from side to side to redistribute the toner, and print a test page. Fading that temporarily clears means the cartridge is nearly spent — swap in the fleet spare and reorder. Fading that stays identical with a known-good cartridge fitted points to the machine itself, and that is a service call rather than a supply order.

What cover applies when we buy for a fleet?

The same as on a single purchase: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns on every cartridge, with support Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. This is a compatible cartridge built to the 331-9805 specification, not a Dell original. Orders ship from our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses, and returns are covered on our shipping & returns page.
