Frequently Asked Questions

Does copying on our B1260DNF use this same cartridge?

Yes. On a multifunction machine like the B1260DNF, every copy is a print — the same 331-7327 cartridge supplies toner whether the page came from a computer, the copier glass or an incoming fax. That is the thing buyers most often underestimate: the 1,500-page rating has to cover all three jobs, not just the printing you send from your desk.

So how fast will a busy B1260DNF get through 1,500 pages?

Faster than the printing-only maths suggests. An office that prints 300 pages a month but also copies 200 and receives a steady stream of faxes is really asking for 500-plus pages of toner, which puts a change at around three months. Heavy coverage — forms, contracts, shaded documents — eats further into the rating, because yields are measured at a standard 5% coverage.

What does each page cost us?

The cartridge is $38.21 against a rating of up to 1,500 pages, which is about 2.55 cents per page. We state it plainly because compact multifunction cartridges never win on per-page cost against large departmental units — their value is one small machine doing three jobs, fed by a cartridge that is inexpensive to swap when it runs out.

Which other printers use the 331-7327?

It is the shared black cartridge across Dell's B1260 and B1265 families — the B1260dn, the B1260dnf covered here, and the B1265dfw laser. One part number across the range means a mixed fleet still needs only one toner shelf.

Is this a genuine Dell cartridge?

No. It is a compatible cartridge built by a third-party manufacturer to the 331-7327 specification for the B1260DNF. The yield figure and the $38.21 price on this page describe this compatible unit, not Dell's own branded version.

What cover do we get with it?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — if the cartridge fades early or fails, it comes back to us. Support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the full policy is on our shipping & returns page. Orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA.
