Frequently Asked Questions

Several of us share one B1260DN — how fast will we get through five cartridges?

Faster than any one user expects. Each 331-7328 is rated at up to 2,500 pages, so the pack holds 12,500 pages, but a shared machine collects everyone's printing: a five-person team averaging 100 pages each per month burns 500 a month and finishes the pack in about two years; a busier desk at 1,000 combined pages a month does it in a year. Shared machines are exactly where shelf stock earns its keep, because nobody's job should wait on somebody else's reorder.

What does the 5-pack do to our cost per page?

Bought singly, this cartridge is $38.21 — about 1.53 cents per rated page. In this pack it is $23.42, and the per-page figure drops to roughly 0.94 cents. The saving across the pack is $73.95 against five separate single orders, which on a shared B1260DN is real money over a year of team printing.

When should we reorder — at the last cartridge, or earlier?

Earlier. The sensible trigger on a shared machine is opening the fourth cartridge: at typical team volumes that still leaves months of printing in the fifth while the next pack is ordered at leisure. Waiting for the machine to stop before reordering turns a routine purchase into an emergency, and emergencies on shared printers land on everyone's desk at once.

Who keeps track of the spare stock?

Whoever sits nearest the printer, ideally — shared machines suffer from shared assumptions, and "someone else ordered it" is how offices run dry. Write the arrival date on each box, load oldest-first, and let one named person own the reorder point. The pack's five identical 331-7328 boxes make that bookkeeping as simple as counting what is left on the shelf.

Are these genuine Dell cartridges?

No — they are compatible 331-7328 high-yield cartridges, produced by a third-party manufacturer to Dell's specification for the B1260DN and its B1260-B1265 family relatives. The $117.10 pack price and 2,500-page rating per cartridge describe these compatible units.

What warranty and returns stand behind them?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns cover every cartridge in the pack, so a dud unit is our problem, not the team's. Help runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, our shipping & returns page sets out the details, and orders are dispatched from IL, PA, GA or CA.
