Frequently Asked Questions

This says "Premium Quality" and costs the same $117.10 as the standard 5-pack. What is actually different?

On the numbers, nothing we can point to: the price is identical at $117.10, the cartridges are the same 331-7328 high-yield units rated at up to 2,500 pages each, and the warranty and returns terms are the same. We state that plainly rather than invent a distinction. Judge this listing the way we would — on the part number, the page rating, the per-cartridge price of $23.42 and the cover behind it — which are exactly the figures the standard pack offers.

What does the pack work out to per cartridge and per page?

Five cartridges at $117.10 is $23.42 each, and across the pack's 12,500 rated pages the toner cost is about 0.94 cents per page. Bought as singles at $38.21, the same five cartridges would cost $191.05, so the pack format itself saves $73.95 regardless of which listing label you arrived through.

Which machines is this pack written for?

The 331-7328 serves Dell's B1260 and B1265 families — the B1260dn and B1260dnf multifunction models and the B1265dfw laser are the machines named for this cartridge. The reliable check is the part number on the cartridge you are replacing: if it reads 331-7328, this pack restocks it, whichever badge in the family your machine wears.

How long will five cartridges sit before the last one is used?

That depends entirely on volume. At 500 pages a month the pack's 12,500 pages last about twenty-five months; at 250 a month, over four years — a longer horizon than we would suggest stocking for, since machines get replaced. Sealed and stored flat in a cool, dry place, the cartridges themselves hold up fine; the real question is whether your printer will still be in service, and only your page counter can answer it.

Is this a genuine Dell product?

No — these are compatible 331-7328 cartridges from a third-party manufacturer, built to Dell's specification for the B1260-B1265 range. The "Premium Quality" wording is a listing label, not a Dell designation, and the ratings and prices on this page describe the compatible product.

What happens if a cartridge disappoints?

The same safety net as every listing we run: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns on each cartridge in the pack. Support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, the terms are published on our shipping & returns page, and stock ships from IL, PA, GA or CA.
