Frequently Asked Questions

Our 2155 mostly copies — does that change how fast this set gets used up?

Yes, because every copy is a print. The copier function draws on the same four cartridges as a computer print job: the 331-0719 black, rated at 3,000 pages, and the cyan 331-0716, magenta 331-0717 and yellow 331-0718 at 2,500 pages each. An office that copies stacks of black paperwork will run the black down well ahead of the colors, while copying color originals pulls all four down together. When you estimate how long this $52.28 set will last, count copies in your monthly page total — on a multifunction machine like the 2155, they are often half the real volume and the reason the toner "went faster than expected."

What is included in this set?

One of each cartridge the machine uses: 331-0719 in black, 331-0716 in cyan, 331-0717 in magenta and 331-0718 in yellow — a complete four-slot refresh in a single box. These are compatible high-yield cartridges rated at 3,000 pages for the black and 2,500 pages for each color, measured at the standard 5% page coverage. It is the same supply platform used across Dell's 2150 and 2155 family, including the Color Laser 2150cdn, Color Laser 2150cn and Multi-Function 2155cdn, so a set bought for the 2155 also fits the shelf stock for those printers.

Is $52.28 a fair way to buy toner for a multifunction machine?

Do the division: $52.28 over four cartridges is $13.07 each. MFPs tend to be bought for a whole team, which means toner stops are everybody's problem — a full set change is one planned event, while piecemeal replacement means the machine keeps interrupting different people's work as each color separately runs out. Even on the most conservative arithmetic, charging the entire set price against the black's 3,000-page rating alone gives roughly 1.74 cents a page; the colors' combined 7,500 rated pages come along in the same box. One order, one swap, predictable cost — that is the argument, and the numbers support it.

Why do copies look washed out before prints from the computer do?

Often they do not — it just feels that way, because copies are frequently made from already-faded originals, and a weak original copied through a weakening cartridge looks doubly pale. The underlying cause is the same: a color cartridge approaching the end of its 2,500-page rating lays down less toner, and copies expose it mercilessly since there is no crisp digital file behind them. If blues are going gray, suspect the cyan 331-0716; flat reds, the magenta 331-0717; vanished highlights, the yellow 331-0718. When one is visibly fading, its three companions are close behind — a full set change is the durable fix.

How do I double-check these are the right cartridges for my 2155?

Match part numbers, not pictures. Open the machine's supply information or check the labels on the installed cartridges: you are looking for 331-0719, 331-0716, 331-0717 and 331-0718. Those four numbers are the shared platform for the Dell 2150 and 2155 family — the 2155 named in this listing, the Multi-Function 2155cdn, the Color Laser 2150cdn and the Color Laser 2150cn. If your current cartridges carry those numbers, this set is the match, and the only remaining questions are price and protection, which the rest of this page covers.

What backing comes with these compatible cartridges?

A 1-year warranty on each cartridge and 1-year free returns on the set, with the details on our shipping and returns page. They are compatible cartridges rather than Dell-manufactured ones; the warranty and returns window are what make them a safe standard for an office machine. Sets ship from our US warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
