Frequently Asked Questions

Does copying and faxing on our 1755NF use the same toner as printing?

Yes — every page the machine puts on paper draws from the same four cartridges, whether it started as a print job, a photocopy or an incoming fax. That is why multifunction machines often empty the black cartridge faster than the rated figures suggest: the black 331-0778 is rated at up to 2,000 pages, but a steady stream of copied forms and faxed contracts counts against that total just as printing does. The colors — cyan 331-0777, magenta 331-0780, yellow 331-0779, up to 1,400 pages each — mostly get used by actual color print jobs.

How do we pick a sensible reorder point instead of waiting for an empty warning?

Watch the black. In a copy-and-fax-heavy office the black cartridge does most of the work, so when the machine reports it low, treat that as the trigger to order the next set — the colors will rarely be far behind in a machine of this age, and having the full set on hand turns a toner change into a two-minute job instead of a stalled afternoon. At $46.23 a set, keeping one spare set on the shelf is cheap insurance against a dead machine.

What exactly is in the box?

Four high-yield compatible cartridges: one black 331-0778, one cyan 331-0777, one magenta 331-0780 and one yellow 331-0779. Each is sealed individually, so you can install what the machine needs today and store the rest. There is nothing else you need to buy to use them — no separate drum unit is part of this set.

Our copies have started coming out gray and washed out. Is that toner?

Possibly, but check the copy glass first — a dirty scanner glass grays copies while prints stay clean, and that difference is the giveaway: print a file, then copy the same page. If both look washed out, a cartridge (usually the black) is nearing the end. If only the copy looks bad, clean the glass before spending anything on toner.

What cover do we get with a compatible set like this?

The same as everything we sell: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns on every cartridge, set or single. If one cartridge in the set fails early, you do not have to return all four — tell us which color it is and we will deal with that cartridge. The full terms sit on our shipping and returns page.

How fast can a replacement set reach us?

Orders ship from whichever of our four US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — makes sense for your address, so most offices are working with short ground-transit times rather than a cross-country wait. If you are down to a fax machine that cannot receive, call us Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST and we will tell you honestly what the timeline looks like.
