Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the house red keep missing on proofs?

Proofs are where magenta drift gets caught, because a brand red is judged against memory and against last month's approved sheet. Red is built from magenta over yellow; as the 106R01567 inside your Phaser 7800DG thins, the yellow share rises and the approved red slides toward orange — close enough to pass a glance, wrong enough to fail a proof. If the red has moved and nothing in the file has, suspect the cartridge first.

'Toner Cartridges' in the name — is this a bundle?

No. It is one cartridge: a single high-yield magenta, part number 106R01567, at $88.49 and rated at 17,200 pages. The plural wording belongs to the listing's series name, not to the contents of the box, and the price shown is the price of that one unit.

What does a 17,200-page yield mean across a proofing workflow?

More than it first sounds, with a caveat. Proofing burns colour in a way office printing does not — full pages, repeated passes, heavy fills — so the test-coverage rating shrinks in real studio use. Even so, at $88.49 the cartridge works out to about 0.51 cents per rated page, which is what makes long proofing cycles on this platform affordable to run.

How do you prove magenta is the culprit before opening a new box?

Print a page of solid colour patches from the machine's test menu and read the magenta patch on its own. A strong, even patch clears the cartridge and sends you back to the file; a patchy or washed patch settles the question in the other direction. Checking first matters at this yield — the cartridge already in the machine may still hold thousands of pages.

Do the DG's graphics options call for a different toner?

No — the suffixes describe the machine around the toner, not the toner itself. Paper handling, finishing and graphics options change between the 7800 variants, but every one of them loads the same high-yield magenta, 106R01567. If the door says Phaser 7800 in any configuration, this is its magenta cartridge.

What warranty and returns back this cartridge?

A one-year warranty, with free returns running for a year as well; the full terms are published on our shipping and returns page. Orders are sent from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the machine's wider range is gathered on the Xerox toner page.
