Frequently Asked Questions

A long run starts true red and finishes orange — what changed mid-job?

The magenta did, gradually, sheet by sheet. On a Phaser 7800DX running heavy red coverage, this cartridge gives up its toner steadily across the run, and because red is magenta laid over yellow, the pages drift orange as the magenta share falls. The first fifty sheets and the last fifty can disagree noticeably — which is why a long colour run deserves a fresh-enough cartridge at the start, not a nearly finished one.

One box or several — what does the plural name mean here?

One box, one cartridge. This listing is a single high-yield magenta, 106R01567, at $88.49, rated at 17,200 pages; the plural 'Toner Cartridges' in the name is the series label, not a bundle count. Everything on this page — price, yield, cover — describes that one unit.

How do you check magenta before committing to a deadline run?

Two minutes with the machine's own tools: read the supplies status, then print one solid magenta test patch. An even, saturated patch says the cartridge has the run in it; a streaky one says swap first and argue later. On deadline work the check is cheap insurance — discovering a tired magenta at sheet 200 of 500 is the expensive way to learn the same fact.

What does roughly half a cent a page mean when quoting colour work?

Predictability. This cartridge costs $88.49 and is rated at 17,200 pages, which works out near 0.51 cents of magenta per page before paper and the other colours enter the sums. For a shop quoting tabloid colour jobs, that turns one ingredient of the price from a guess into a line item — heavy coverage will spend it faster, but the baseline is firm.

Where should the spare cartridge live?

Within reach of the machine, still sealed. A production printer that stops for magenta loses more than the price of the cartridge, so the spare 106R01567 belongs in a cupboard by the DX rather than in a distant store room — kept in its box, flat and away from heat, opened only at the moment of the swap.

What backing comes with the cartridge if something goes wrong?

A one-year warranty stands behind it, and returns are free for a year; the terms are spelled out on our shipping and returns page. Stock leaves warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the wider range for the machine is listed on the Xerox toner page.
