Frequently Asked Questions

Seven model names, one cartridge — how do you confirm yours?

Read the badge on the machine itself. If it says Phaser 7760 followed by any letter combination — including YGX like this listing — the magenta supply is the 106R01161. The letters were Xerox's way of packaging printer configurations; they were never different toner families, and this cartridge is rated at up to 25,000 pages in every one of them.

Which exact models does it fit?

The Phaser 7760, the Phaser 7760DN and the Phaser 7760DX, plus the 7760GX, 7760YDN, 7760YDX and the 7760YGX this page is named after. One magenta design covers the whole series.

How many cartridges does this listing include?

One single cartridge. The name's plural "Cartridges" is naming convention, not quantity — the box holds one 106R01161 magenta cartridge at $70.76, and at the rated yield that one cartridge carries up to 25,000 pages.

What are the first signs this magenta is nearly done?

Warm subjects give it away: skin tones turn grey-green, reds lose saturation, and large magenta solids print unevenly or with streaks. Because the decline is gradual, comparing a fresh proof against an older one is the most reliable test on a color-critical machine.

Should the other colors be replaced at the same time?

Only if they are also fading. Cyan, yellow and black are separate cartridges on separate listings, each with its own remaining life. Changing just the depleted magenta keeps the others working through toner you have already paid for.

What support stands behind the order?

A 1-year warranty and free returns across a full year, as described on our shipping & returns page. Orders ship from IL, PA, GA and CA, our team is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and further supplies for the series sit on the Xerox supplies page.

About This Phaser 7760YGX Magenta Cartridge

The YGX is one of the less common badges in the 7760 line, which is exactly why this listing names it directly: your magenta is the standard 106R01161 — one cartridge, $70.76, up to 25,000 pages — shared with every other member of the family. Rare badge, ordinary cartridge, no special order needed.
