Frequently Asked Questions

When is the smart moment to swap the magenta on a hard-working 7760DX?

Before the deadline job, not during it. Magenta fades gradually — output warms down, reds go muddy — and a cartridge rated at 25,000 pages gives plenty of warning if someone is watching the proofs. Keep this 106R01161 on the shelf and change it between big runs rather than mid-stack.

Why does heavy color coverage shorten the cartridge's life?

The 25,000-page rating assumes standard page coverage. A tabloid sheet filled edge to edge with color can lay down many times that toner load, and duplex production doubles the passes again. The pages-per-cartridge number shrinks accordingly — the cartridge is not faulty, the work is simply denser than the yardstick.

What does magenta cost per printed page here?

One cartridge is $70.76 and rated to 25,000 pages, so at standard coverage the magenta share of a page costs roughly 0.28 cents. Even allowing for richer real-world coverage, the 7760DX stays an inexpensive machine to feed in color.

Which models does this listing cover?

The full Phaser 7760 family: the Phaser 7760, Phaser 7760DN and Phaser 7760DX, together with the GX, YDN, YDX and YGX variants. This page is named for the DX, but the 106R01161 cartridge is common to them all.

The name says "Cartridges" — is this a multipack?

It is not. One cartridge arrives in the box: a single 106R01161 magenta. The plural is catalog wording. Given the 25,000-page rating, a single cartridge is already the long-interval option for most DX installations.

How is the purchase protected?

With a 1-year warranty and free returns for one full year — the terms are spelled out on the shipping & returns page. We ship from IL, PA, GA and CA, support staffs the phones Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the rest of the family's supplies are on the Xerox supplies page.
