Frequently Asked Questions

What do the extra letters in "7760YDX" mean when you are ordering toner?

For toner purposes, nothing at all. The letter groups on a 7760 badge describe how the printer left the factory — its paper handling, finishing and configuration package. The toner bay behind the cover is identical across the family, and the magenta it asks for is this 106R01161 cartridge, rated at up to 25,000 pages.

Does the YDX take a different magenta from a plain 7760?

No — there is one magenta for the entire series. The Phaser 7760, Phaser 7760DN and Phaser 7760DX all use it, as do the GX, YDN, YDX and YGX builds. If the machine's badge starts with 7760, this cartridge fits the magenta slot.

How many cartridges are in this listing?

One, despite the plural "Cartridges" in the listing name. You receive a single 106R01161 magenta cartridge for $70.76 — enough, at the rated yield, for up to 25,000 pages before the question comes up again.

Why does magenta seem to run out ahead of the other colors?

It depends entirely on what the machine prints. Brochures, covers and photo work lean hard on magenta for reds, skin tones and purple shades, so a color-heavy workflow genuinely can drain it first. Each color is its own cartridge with its own listing, so the practical answer is simply to replace the one that is empty.

What is the running cost of this cartridge?

$70.76 spread over up to 25,000 pages is about 0.28 cents per page for magenta. For a configured YDX doing production-style color work, that keeps the per-sheet supply cost low enough that in-house printing stays easy to justify against outside print quotes.

What warranty and returns cover applies?

The cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and a full year of free returns, detailed on our shipping & returns page. Shipments go out from IL, PA, GA and CA, help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the wider consumables range lives on the Xerox supplies page.

About This Phaser 7760YDX Magenta Cartridge

This listing exists for the long-badged machines: if your printer wears the 7760YDX name, its magenta supply is the same 106R01161 the rest of the family uses — one cartridge, $70.76, up to 25,000 pages. The letters on the badge describe the printer, never a special toner.
