Frequently Asked Questions

Why do the color cartridges in this set usually finish ahead of the black on a YDN?

The YDN tends to land in departments whose pages lean visual — reports dressed up with charts, internal posters, customer handouts. Those pages spend the cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges on every sheet while black only handles the text laid over them. So even though the black 106R01163 holds the biggest capacity of the four, a graphics-leaning workload can empty a color position first.

What is in the box?

The platform's four high-yield cartridges, one per position: black 106R01163, cyan 106R01160, magenta 106R01161 and yellow 106R01162. Nothing else is needed to return the printer to a full load.

How does a 25,000-page color rating play out across a working quarter?

The rating is measured on a test page with 5% coverage, and real color pages spend more than that — how much more decides everything. A department printing a few hundred color sheets a week will measure a set's life in months; the same cartridges in daily long-run graphics work are measured in weeks. The honest planning tool is the machine's own level display, checked against your busiest recent stretch.

Can the black cartridge be replaced on its own later, without buying another set?

Yes. The four positions are independent — any one of them can be restocked singly under its own part number while the others stay in place. A set is simply the convenient way to bring all four back to full together; afterwards, replace whichever position your workload empties first, as often as it empties.

Which models does the set fit?

The Phaser 7760YDN named here, and the rest of the platform: Phaser 7760, Phaser 7760DN and Phaser 7760DX, plus the GX, YGX and YDX configurations. All of them take this same four-cartridge load.

What cover and shipping terms apply to the set?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns apply, with the details published on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from the nearest of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and our support team is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
