Frequently Asked Questions

Does duplex printing change how fast this set is used up?

Duplexing halves the paper, not the toner. Each printed side of a sheet takes the same toner whether its back is blank or printed, so a DX running two-sided documents uses toner at the rate its page sides dictate. What duplexing does change is how the work feels: longer documents per stack, fewer refills of the tray — while toner levels fall exactly as the coverage on those sides demands.

What is inside this set?

Four high-yield cartridges, one per position: the black 106R01163, carrying an up to 32,000-page rating, and the three colors — cyan 106R01160, magenta 106R01161, yellow 106R01162 — each rated at up to 25,000 pages. The black rating sits higher because text work leans on it hardest; the ratings all assume the standard 5% coverage test page.

What does that 5% coverage figure mean for a real office?

Five percent coverage is a page with a modest amount of text on it — a letter, a memo. A page carrying charts, shaded tables or photographs can lay down several times that. So an office mixing documents with graphics should expect the color cartridges to finish ahead of their ratings, while a text-only workload can meet or pass the black figure. The ratings are best used to compare cartridges, not to schedule a calendar date.

Which printers does it fit?

The Phaser 7760DX of the listing title, and the whole platform behind it: Phaser 7760, Phaser 7760DN and Phaser 7760DX category machines, plus the GX, YDN, YGX and YDX configurations. Duplex units and finishers differ across them; the toner fitting does not.

Later on, can a single cartridge be bought instead of another full set?

Yes. Each position can be restocked on its own under the same part number — black under 106R01163, cyan under 106R01160, magenta under 106R01161 and yellow under 106R01162. Many owners buy one set to bring all four positions back to full, then top up individually as each position's workload dictates.

How is the set covered and shipped?

It comes with a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — see our shipping and returns page for the terms. Orders are dispatched from whichever of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses is nearest to you, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
