Frequently Asked Questions

In a text-heavy office, which cartridge in this set does most of the work?

The black one, by a wide margin. Letters, invoices and reports are built almost entirely from the black 106R01163, which is why it carries the largest capacity of the four — up to 32,000 pages. The colors sit mostly idle on paperwork days, then get their exercise from the occasional chart, logo or shaded table, so on the GX's typical mixed workload the black position is the one to watch.

What do the level warnings look like as the set runs down?

The machine reports each position separately, first with low-toner warnings and then when a cartridge is spent. The useful habit is to treat the first warning as the reorder point rather than the empty message: with the next cartridge already on your shelf, the warning is a diary note instead of a deadline, and the swap itself takes minutes when the day comes.

Which printers take this set?

The Phaser 7760GX named in this listing, and the wider platform: the Phaser 7760, the Phaser 7760DN and the Phaser 7760DX, plus the YDN, YGX and YDX builds. All of them load the same four cartridges.

What four cartridges are included?

One of each high-yield cartridge for the platform: 106R01163 in black, 106R01160 in cyan, 106R01161 in magenta and 106R01162 in yellow. Black is rated at up to 32,000 pages and the three colors at up to 25,000 pages each, all against the standard 5% coverage test page.

Do the color cartridges still get used in a mostly black-and-white office?

More than most people expect. Grays inside charts, shaded spreadsheet tables and scanned images are frequently built from the color toners rather than from black alone, so the cyan 106R01160, magenta 106R01161 and yellow 106R01162 do decline even when nobody prints a photograph. They decline slowly — just not at zero.

How is the set covered, and how fast does it ship?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns come with the set; our shipping and returns page explains both. Orders leave from whichever warehouse — IL, PA, GA or CA — holds stock closest to your address, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
