Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the 7400DX sit in the range?

Near the top. The DX is the expanded configuration — duplex printing with generous paper capacity — aimed at departments that run a 7400 as shared production equipment rather than a personal color printer. This listing is the black cartridge page for owners who know that badge.

Is the DX's black cartridge a special one?

No — and that is the useful thing to know. The Phaser 7400DX drinks the same 106R01080 as the Phaser 7400, Phaser 7400DN, Phaser 7400DT and Phaser 7400DFX. Model suffixes describe trays, duplexing and finishers; the toner number never changes.

What do I get for $73.70?

One high-yield black cartridge rated for up to 15,000 pages — about 0.49 cents of toner per black page. For a machine in daily departmental service, the black cartridge is typically the most frequently changed supply in it, and the high-yield fill is what stretches that interval.

The title says "Cartridges" — is it really one?

Really one. The plural in the name is a catalogue convention, not a count; this listing ships a single 106R01080. Genuine multipacks live on their own listings, clearly named as two-, three- and five-packs.

Does this cover the printer's colors too?

No. This is the black cartridge only. The 7400DX's cyan, magenta and yellow supplies are separate cartridges sold separately, and this cartridge's 15,000-page rating counts black pages alone.

What cover does the purchase include?

Every cartridge carries our 1-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year under the policy on our shipping & returns page. We ship from IL, PA, GA and CA, support runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and sibling supplies are gathered on our Xerox toner page.
