Frequently Asked Questions

Half the office prints to our 6010N, and a color job just came out wrong. Where do I look first?

At the yellow cartridge. On a shared machine nobody watches toner levels, and yellow is the supply that empties without a scene: black-and-white jobs sail through untouched while every color job quietly loses its warmth. The 106R1629 in this listing is that cartridge, rated at up to 1,400 pages.

Should a shared printer keep a spare yellow on the shelf?

It is the cheapest insurance in the supply closet. A sealed 106R1629 at $29.92 turns a stalled print queue into a two-minute swap, and because it serves the entire platform, the same spare rescues any 6000 or 6015 machine in the building. Store it sealed, upright and at room temperature until the day it is needed.

How many cartridges does this listing actually ship?

One. Despite the plural "Cartridges" in the name — wording this catalog uses across the family — the box holds a single yellow cartridge for $29.92. Offices that burn through color faster can order pack listings of the same cartridge instead of stacking singles.

Why did nobody notice it running out?

Because most office output never touches it. Memos, invoices and forms are black-only jobs, so the queue looked healthy while the yellow drained behind the scenes. The first color presentation of the week is what exposes an empty 106R1629 — greens gone blue, oranges gone pink.

Which machines can this spare serve?

All of them on this platform: the Phaser 6000 and 6000B, the Phaser 6010, this Phaser 6010N, and the WorkCentre 6015 family, WorkCentre 6015V/B and WorkCentre 6015V/N included.

What warranty and returns come with it?

A one-year warranty and free returns for a full year, as set out on the shipping and returns page. Orders are dispatched from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA; support is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST; and the platform's other supplies are collected on the Xerox toner page.
