Frequently Asked Questions

Why would an office choose three cartridges at once?

Because black consumption on a Phaser 6140 is steady and predictable — documents every day, all year. At up to 2,500 rated pages per cartridge, three units cover up to 7,500 pages, which for many small offices is a full quarter or more of printing settled in a single order, with no mid-quarter scramble when the warning light appears.

What do I save against buying singles?

The 3-pack is $58.95, which is $19.65 per cartridge. Bought one at a time, three cartridges would cost $95.94, so the pack saves $36.99 and brings the cost down to about 0.79 cents per rated page. The saving grows because the per-cartridge price falls with each step up the pack sizes.

How do I keep three cartridges fresh and in order?

First in, first out. Keep the boxes stacked in the order they arrived, take from the front, and put any new delivery behind what is already there. Stored sealed, cool and dry, a cartridge waits patiently; the rotation simply guarantees no box spends longer on the shelf than it should.

Is three too many for a quieter office?

It can be. If the printer produces a few hundred pages a month, three cartridges could sit for years — harmless to the toner, but money resting on a shelf. Honest rule: if you will not finish the third cartridge within a sensible horizon, the 2-pack or a single is the better buy. This size rewards steady, daily printing.

Are all three exactly the same cartridge?

Yes — three identical compatible black cartridges, all 106R01480, each rated at up to 2,500 pages in this listing. There is no mixture of yields or colours in the box, just the Phaser 6140's black supply three times over, ready to rotate through the machine in turn.

What cover stands behind the pack?

A 1-year warranty and free returns for a full year apply to every cartridge, as set out on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, with support available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
