Frequently Asked Questions

The listing title says "Toner Cartridges" — am I buying more than one?

No, and it is worth saying plainly: this listing is for a single cyan cartridge. The plural wording in the title is a leftover of catalog phrasing, not a pack count — one box arrives, holding one 106R01331 unit, priced at $25.25. If your printer needs cyan only, that one unit is the whole job; if you want a spare on the shelf as well, order a quantity of two and the second sits sealed until the day the first gives out.

Why do the skies in my photos print washed-out and faintly pink?

Because a sky is the most cyan-hungry thing a home printer ever prints. A photograph of open sky can be three-quarters cyan by area, so it is the first image to confess when the supply fades: the blue thins out, the magenta underneath starts showing through, and the result is that pale, pinkish wash. Ordinary documents may still look acceptable for weeks after your photos start complaining, which makes a sky picture the cheapest diagnostic you own — print one before you order, and again after the swap, and you will see the whole story.

How involved is the swap on a desktop machine like this?

It is a one-minute, no-tools job designed for the person who owns the desk. Open the front cover of the Phaser 6125, slide the old cyan unit straight out by its handle, peel the seal from the new 106R01331, slide it in until it seats, and close the cover. Keep the new cartridge in its bag until that moment — toner units prefer the dark, and the bag is also what keeps a stray shake from dusting your desk.

What does this cartridge work out to per printed page?

At the $25.25 price and the standard rating of up to 1,000 pages, the arithmetic lands around 2.5 cents of cyan per page — and that assumes every page carries an average load of color. A page that is almost entirely text, with a blue heading and a hyperlink, uses a small fraction of that; a page that is almost entirely photograph uses several times more. The honest way to read the figure is as a budget line for document printing, which is what a compact desktop color printer spends most of its life doing.

Is it worth keeping a spare cyan on hand for this printer?

For most owners, yes — precisely because this is a standard-yield unit rather than a high-capacity one. A 1,000-page rating disappears faster than people expect once a photo project or a batch of color reports lands, and cyan is the color whose absence you cannot work around: the printer will not fake blue from the other three. A sealed spare in a drawer turns a mid-project stop into a one-minute swap, and the unopened unit waits patiently — stored flat, out of direct light, it keeps for a long time.

What protection stands behind this cartridge?

A 1-year warranty covers the cartridge, and returns stay free for a full year if it is not right for your machine; the details are set out on our shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and you can reach a human on support Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
