Frequently Asked Questions

What does the second cartridge in this box actually buy?

It buys the end of the toner emergency. Toner never politely runs out between jobs — it fades in the middle of the mailing, the month-end statements, the one run that cannot wait. With this 2 pack, the replacement is already in the cupboard when that happens: two minutes with the machine open, and the job finishes the same day instead of waiting on a courier.

How do the numbers on the pair work out?

Bought one at a time, two 106R2311 cartridges cost $80.62. This box is $62.12 — that is $31.06 per cartridge, $18.50 saved, and up to 10,000 rated pages between the pair. The cost per page drops to about 0.62 cents, which is the real reason the 2 pack is the most popular size in this range: meaningful savings, no warehouse of stock.

When should the next box be ordered?

The day the spare goes into the machine. That single habit is what makes a 2 pack work: the moment the shelf is bare, the reorder goes in, and from then on there is always one cartridge working and one waiting. Offices that wait for the low-toner warning before ordering eventually post something late; offices that reorder on the swap never think about toner at all.

How should the waiting cartridge be stored?

Flat, still sealed in its box, in a cool dry cupboard away from direct sunlight and radiators. Toner powder does not dry out or go stale the way ink does, so the second cartridge loses nothing by waiting a few months. When its turn comes, give it a gentle side-to-side rock before fitting to level any powder that settled in storage, and it prints like the first one did.

Are both cartridges exactly the same supply?

Yes — two identical black 106R2311 cartridges, same part number, same 5,000-page rating, no standard-and-high-yield mixing to keep track of. There is no wrong one to grab from the shelf, and no setting on the machine changes between the first and the second: open the box, fit it, carry on.

What cover comes with the pair?

Both cartridges carry a 1-year warranty, with free returns running for a full year — the full wording lives on our shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
