Frequently Asked Questions

The title says "Cartridges" — how many are in the box?

One. The plural wording is how this range is catalogued, but this listing is a single black cartridge: one 106R2311, sealed in its box, at $40.31. If your machine eats through toner fast enough that one at a time means reordering every few weeks, the multi-packs in this same listing family exist for exactly that reason — this one is the straightforward single.

What does the 106R2311 number actually identify?

It is the part number of the black toner cartridge itself — the code printed on the label of the cartridge you pull out of the machine. When the printer asks for toner, reorder by that number rather than by a description: descriptions blur between models and colours, while 106R2311 names one cartridge, in black, at one yield. Reading the spent cartridge's label before you order takes ten seconds and removes all the guesswork.

How far does one cartridge's 5,000 pages really go?

That rating is measured at the industry-standard 5% page coverage — a typical page of text. A small office printing 30 to 50 pages a day will see one cartridge last roughly a quarter; a desk that prints a handful of invoices a week may not change it for the better part of a year. Long solid documents, dense letterheads and heavy copy runs all spend the rating faster than plain memos do, so treat 5,000 as the yardstick, not a promise.

What does each page cost from this cartridge?

The arithmetic is plain: $40.31 spread over a rating of up to 5,000 pages lands at about 0.81 cents per page. That is the figure to hold in mind when the machine's warning light makes toner feel like an emergency purchase — at under a cent a page, the single cartridge keeps a black-and-white machine cheap to run without committing you to a cupboard full of stock.

The pages have gone pale with grey streaks — is the cartridge finished?

That washed-out look is the honest end-of-life signature of a black cartridge. Before the swap, lift the old cartridge out and rock it gently side to side a few times: redistributing the powder that remains often buys a few dozen decent pages, enough to finish the run in front of you. When the streaks return straight away, the cartridge is telling the truth and the new 106R2311 goes in.

What stands behind the cartridge if something is wrong?

It is covered by a 1-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year; the complete terms are on our shipping and returns page. Orders leave from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, and the support desk answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
