Frequently Asked Questions

How long will one of these actually last in our ML-4512ND?

Work it from your own volume. The MLT-D307E is rated at 20,000 pages, so a department printing roughly 3,000 pages a month will see six to seven months from one cartridge; a heavier desk at 5,000 a month will see about four. Either way the interval is measured in seasons rather than weeks, which is the point of fitting the extra-high-yield supply in the first place.

Is the 20,000-page figure a promise?

It is a rating, measured the industry way at around 5% toner coverage — the density of a typical letter or invoice. Pages carrying big logos, shaded tables or graphics spend toner faster and will trim the total; light correspondence can stretch it further. Treat 20,000 as a fair yardstick for planning, not a guarantee printed on the box.

Which machines take this cartridge?

This supply is listed for the Samsung ML-4512ND and its sibling the ML-5012ND. Those are the two departmental machines the MLT-D307E serves, and because one code covers both, offices running the pair can standardise on a single cartridge type instead of stocking two.

Should we keep a spare on the shelf for a department printer?

For a machine a whole department depends on, yes. A printer of this class rarely empties at a convenient moment, and the low-toner warning still leaves a reserve rather than a full cartridge. One sealed spare turns the change into a two-minute job instead of an urgent order, and at this yield the spare waits patiently — it will not be needed often.

What does a printed page work out to on this supply?

The cartridge costs $74.19 and is rated at 20,000 pages, which puts the toner cost near 0.37 cents per page. On a departmental printer that is the number that matters over a year: the machine's appetite is large, so a low per-page figure compounds into a real saving against smaller cartridges changed twice as often.

If the cartridge disappoints us, what can we do?

Send it back. This compatible cartridge carries a year's warranty against defects, and returns are free throughout that first year under the terms published on our shipping and returns page. Support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you would rather talk it through first.
