Frequently Asked Questions

Why is two the natural quantity to reorder for this cartridge?

Because of how the MLT-D307E gets used: one cartridge works in the printer while the second waits sealed on the shelf. When the working unit finally empties — months later, at this rating — the change takes minutes and the reorder reminder goes out the same day. A pair keeps a department printer continuously fed without tying up the money a larger case would.

What does each cartridge in the pair effectively cost?

The two-pack is $129.87, which is $64.94 a cartridge against $74.19 bought singly — $18.51 kept across the pair. Nothing about the cartridges changes: same MLT-D307E code, same 20,000-page rating each. The discount is purely for taking the shelf spare at the same time as the working unit.

How many pages does the pair put on the shelf?

Forty thousand rated pages in total — 20,000 from each cartridge — which brings the running cost to about 0.32 cents a page. For a department ML-4512ND printing a few thousand pages a month, that is the better part of a year's supply in two boxes, bought in a single order.

We run both an ML-4512ND and an ML-5012ND — can one pair serve both?

Yes, and that is one of this supply's quiet advantages. The MLT-D307E is the listed cartridge for both machines, so the pair is a common stock: whichever printer runs dry first takes the next cartridge, and no spare is ever stranded fitting a machine you no longer have.

How should the spare be stored until its turn comes?

Keep it sealed in its box, lying flat in a dry cupboard away from heat and direct light. Toner does not go off on a calendar, but the packaging keeps dust and moisture away from the unit, and a cartridge stored properly will perform exactly as rated when its turn — possibly many months away — finally comes.

Are both cartridges covered the same way?

Each one is. The warranty runs cartridge by cartridge: a full year against defects on every unit in the pack, with free returns across the same first year, all set out on our shipping and returns page. Our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
