Frequently Asked Questions
Why would anyone order six color cartridges in a single box?
Because color runs out mid-job, not mid-meeting. This set holds six cartridges spanning the three CLT-404S colors, so after one full color change there is still stock on the shelf for the next. Busy Xpress owners use it to stretch the gap between orders from weeks to months and to make sure a fading magenta on a deadline day is a five-minute swap, not a two-day wait.
Which colors does the set cover?
It is built entirely from the color side of the family: the CLT-C404S cyan, CLT-M404S magenta and CLT-Y404S yellow cartridges. Black is not part of this box at all — the CLT-K404S black cartridge is ordered separately, which suits offices whose color output far outpaces their plain-text printing.
How far does 1,000 pages per cartridge actually go?
The 1,000-page figure assumes 5% coverage, the industry yardstick. A household or small office printing a few dozen color pages a week will see each cartridge last months; a studio turning out graphics-heavy proofs will move through them far faster, because a dense page can use five times the standard coverage. Either way, six cartridges represent a deep reserve rather than a single change.
How does the price break down?
The six-cartridge set costs $292.35, equivalent to roughly $48.73 per cartridge. That per-cartridge figure is simply the set price divided by six — the honest comparison to make when deciding between this deeper stock-up and the smaller three-color box.
Will it work in my printer?
The set serves the Samsung Xpress machines built around the CLT-404S series: Xpress C430, Xpress C430W, Xpress C480 and Xpress C480FW. Check the label on a cartridge already in your machine — if it reads CLT-C404S, CLT-M404S or CLT-Y404S, these are its direct replacements.
How should spare cartridges be stored, and what protection backs them?
Keep unopened cartridges flat, in their packaging, away from heat and direct sunlight, and they will wait patiently until needed. Each one is covered by a one-year warranty with free returns throughout that year; the step-by-step returns process is set out on our shipping & returns page. Support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and parcels are dispatched from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California.
About This Samsung CLT-404S 6 Color Toner Set
At $292.35, this is the bulk color option for the CLT-404S platform: six cartridges drawn from the cyan, magenta and yellow members of the family, each rated at 1,000 pages, for the Xpress C430, C430W, C480 and C480FW. It is aimed at users who treat color toner as a stocked supply rather than an emergency purchase — one delivery covers repeated color changes, with black handled on its own cycle. Within our Samsung compatible catalogue it carries the standard year of warranty protection and free first-year returns.
