Cross-reference: Ricoh 841886, the Type MP 401 black print cartridge (10,400 pages). This cartridge fits the Ricoh MP 401SPF, MP 402SPF and SP 4520DN — the same machines were also sold under the Savin and Lanier brands with the same model names.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who actually goes through four cartridges of this size?

Offices with a single hard-working multifunction printer — a medical front desk, a busy real-estate office, a shipping counter — can burn through 10,400 pages faster than expected once copying is counted in. Four cartridges total 41,600 pages, which for a high-volume small office can be a year's supply bought in one order.

How does the per-cartridge price compare with smaller packs?

In this four-pack each cartridge costs $28.54, against $42.41 for a single and $33.17 in the two-pack. Buying four singles separately would run $169.64; the four-pack at $114.17 saves $55.47, and the per-page cost falls to about 0.27 cents at the rated yield.

Is it sensible to keep three spare cartridges in the cabinet?

For a machine the whole office depends on, yes — the spares are individually sealed and keep well in normal office storage, so there is no rush to use them. The practical benefit is ordering less often: one purchase covers several replacement cycles, and a cartridge change never has to wait on a delivery.

Do all four cartridges fit every model in this printer family?

They do — although the listing carries a single model name, the 841886 is the standard cartridge for the full Ricoh MP 401SPF and SP 4510SF range, and each of the four fits any machine on that platform. A site running mixed models from the family can draw from the same box.

Should the cartridges be rotated, or does order not matter?

Use them in the order you received them — oldest first — so no cartridge sits in storage longer than necessary. Beyond that there is no special rotation: each sealed cartridge is identical, rated at 10,400 pages, and ready to install whenever the machine calls for it.

How are returns and warranty handled on a bulk pack?

The whole pack is covered for a year: a one-year warranty on the cartridges and free returns for one year, with the full policy on our shipping and returns page. Shipments leave from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and our support team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
