Cross-reference: Ricoh 841886, the Type MP 401 black print cartridge (10,400 pages). This cartridge fits the Ricoh MP 401SPF, MP 402SPF and SP 4520DN — the same machines were also sold under the Savin and Lanier brands with the same model names.

Frequently Asked Questions

We run this MFP around the clock — how fast will two cartridges disappear?

Together the pair delivers 20,800 rated pages. A department printing and copying a thousand pages a week can expect roughly five months from the two-pack, while lighter use stretches it well past a year; the honest way to estimate is your monthly page counter divided into 20,800.

Is there any installation difference between the first cartridge and the spare?

None at all. Both are identical 841886 cartridges in individual packaging; when the installed one runs out, the spare goes in the same way, and the machine simply continues. Just keep the spare sealed until swap day so it stays in factory condition.

How much money stays in the budget with the pair instead of two single orders?

The two-pack is $66.33, which is $18.49 less than the $84.82 that two singles would cost, and it arrives in one shipment instead of two. Per cartridge that is $33.17, and at the full rated yield the toner cost works out to roughly 0.32 cents a page.

Our two sites have different models from the same family — can one pack cover both?

Yes. The listing headline names one model, but these cartridges belong to the wider Ricoh MP 401SPF and SP 4510SF platform, so either cartridge can be installed in any machine from that family. Many customers keep one cartridge at each location rather than two at one.

What happens if we switch to a different printer before using the spare?

That is the one situation where a spare can be stranded, so offices planning a hardware change soon may prefer buying singles. Otherwise the sealed spare keeps well in a cool, dry cabinet, and with our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, a fresh order is never far away either.

What cover do we get on a two-pack purchase?

A one-year warranty covers the cartridges, and returns are free for an entire year — the full terms live on the shipping and returns page. If anything is unclear, our team is on hand Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
