Cross-reference: Ricoh 841886, the Type MP 401 black print cartridge (10,400 pages). This cartridge fits the Ricoh MP 401SPF, MP 402SPF and SP 4520DN — the same machines were also sold under the Savin and Lanier brands with the same model names.

Frequently Asked Questions

Buying four at once feels like a lot — how does the math justify it?

Four single cartridges would cost $169.64; this pack is $114.17, so $55.47 stays in your pocket and each cartridge effectively costs $28.54 instead of $42.41. Spread over the pack's 41,600 rated pages, toner runs about 0.27 cents per page — the cheapest way to feed this machine.

Our page volume swings wildly month to month. Does bulk still make sense?

Usually, yes. Sealed cartridges do not expire on an office-relevant timescale, so a quiet quarter simply means the stock lasts longer, while a sudden copying project will not catch you empty. The only real caution is storage: a cool, dry shelf away from sunlight keeps all four in perfect condition.

Month-end reporting week doubles our copying. Will four cartridges smooth that out?

That is exactly the pattern bulk buying suits. Peaks stop being supply emergencies — when the machine empties mid-run, a sealed spare is already in the cabinet — and reordering becomes a calm, once-in-a-while task instead of a monthly scramble.

Can these four cartridges be shared across several machines?

Yes. Although the listing is titled for a single model, the 841886 is the shared cartridge for the entire Ricoh MP 401SPF and SP 4510SF platform, so any of the four can go into any machine in that family. Larger sites often keep the box centrally and issue cartridges as each printer asks for one.

Does one bad cartridge mean sending the whole pack back?

No — a problem is handled at the individual cartridge level under the one-year warranty. The remaining sealed cartridges are unaffected, and our support team, available Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM CST, will walk you through the quickest resolution.

What is the return window on an order of this size?

The same generous terms as every order: free returns for a full year, spelled out on the shipping and returns page. Stock ships from whichever of our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses gets it to you fastest.
