Frequently Asked Questions
Can one order really cover our toner for a year or more?
For most MP-161SPF installations, yes. Four cartridges total 28,000 pages; an office printing, copying, and receiving faxes at 1,500 pages a month would take over eighteen months to finish them. That turns toner into a once-a-year purchasing decision instead of a recurring errand, with no emergency orders in between.
Is this the cheapest way to buy toner for this machine?
By the page, yes. The 4-pack is $59.75 for 28,000 pages — about 0.21 cents per page, with each cartridge effectively costing $14.94. Against four singles at $28.81 apiece, you keep $55.49 and lose nothing in coverage or support.
Which machines in our office can use these cartridges?
Keep them sealed, flat, and in a cool, dry closet, and always load the oldest one first. Note the purchase date on the outer box if it helps your rotation. Properly stored, the fourth cartridge will perform like the first even if a year passes before it is opened.
Does our heavy scanning habit change how fast we use these?
It works in your favor: scanning to email or folder consumes no toner, so an SPF model in a digitizing workflow often prints far less than its page-handling suggests. Only prints, copies, and incoming faxes draw from the 28,000-page pool.
What backing do we have on a purchase this size?
Full backing: a one-year warranty across the pack and free returns within a year of purchase, with the procedure spelled out on our shipping and returns page. Buying in bulk never means buying unprotected — our team is available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.
