Frequently Asked Questions
Our MP-161SPF is shared by the whole department. Why does that make a spare essential?
Shared machines have no owner, so nobody notices the low-toner warning until the cartridge is empty and someone is standing there with a deadline. With the second cartridge of this 2-pack stored beside the machine, whoever hits empty fixes it in two minutes instead of filing a request and waiting on a delivery.
What does this 2-pack save us?
Two single cartridges would run $57.62; the 2-pack is $39.12 — $18.50 saved, at $19.56 per cartridge. Across 14,000 pages of prints, copies, and received faxes, that is about 0.28 cents per page instead of roughly 0.41 cents.
Can the pack be split between two different machines?
How long will 14,000 pages last a working department?
At 800 printed pages a month — a realistic departmental pace once faxes and copies are counted — the pair covers about seventeen months. Scanning volume does not shorten that at all, since scans never touch the toner supply.
Does the waiting cartridge degrade before we open it?
Kept in its sealed bag in a cool, dry spot, no. Toner is a dry powder; it does not evaporate or dry out, and the cartridge has a long shelf life. Store it flat near the machine so the person who needs it can actually find it.
How do returns and warranty work on a 2-pack?
Simply: one-year warranty protection and free returns for one year from purchase, covering each cartridge on its own — details are on our shipping and returns page. If the spare turns out faulty when its turn comes, contact support (Mon–Fri, 9 AM–5 PM CST) and we will replace or refund it.
