Frequently Asked Questions

We hardly print anything yellow — so why is the yellow cartridge empty?

Because yellow hides inside other colors. Every green is cyan plus yellow, golds and warm skin tones lean on it, and most photographs use yellow across large areas even when nothing on the page looks yellow. It is quietly one of the hardest-working cartridges in the machine, which is why it often empties first.

What are the early signs that yellow is nearly finished?

Greens are the giveaway — they drift toward blue as yellow fades — along with highlights and warm tones losing their glow. A test page with a green chart or a landscape photo will show a failing yellow long before plain documents do.

How long does the 10,500-page rating translate to in practice?

For a general office printing color on a minority of pages, a color cartridge commonly lasts many months. The rating assumes about 5% coverage of that one color, so photo and brochure work, which covers far more of the page, shortens real-world life considerably.

Is this yellow cartridge specific to the IMC2000 named in the title?

No — the title names one model, but the 842308 yellow cartridge fits every machine across the Ricoh IM C2000 and IM C2500 platform. The whole family shares the same set of four cartridges, so this yellow is the right one for any printer in that line.

Can a low yellow cartridge stop the machine from printing at all?

On most configurations, yes — once a color is fully empty, color jobs pause and many offices find even everyday work interrupted until it is swapped. Keeping a yellow spare is cheap insurance precisely because its hidden workload makes its timing hard to predict.

What warranty and return terms apply here?

You get a one-year warranty on the cartridge and free returns for one full year. Our shipping and returns page has the complete policy, and support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you need help.
