Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of work burns through cyan fastest on a machine this quick?

Presentation decks, charts with blue headers, and anything heavy in skies, water, or corporate blue branding. Cyan also lays down half of every green on the page, so reports full of green graphs draw on it constantly. On a fast machine producing color decks daily, cyan is usually the first color to reach the low warning.

How many pages should we realistically expect from this cyan cartridge?

The rating is 22,500 pages at the standard 5% coverage assumption, and light office color — a logo here, a chart there — can meet or beat it. At $114.45 that works out to roughly half a cent per rated color page. Full-color flyers and photo pages carry far more than 5% coverage and will land well below the rating, so plan color-heavy budgets accordingly.

The listing names the C6000 — is this cyan limited to that model?

No. This 842282 cyan cartridge is the standard color supply for the whole Ricoh IM C4500 and IM C6000 platform, and every machine in that family takes it. The title names one model from the family; the cartridge itself serves the platform, so it is the correct cyan for any device in that line.

Our blues have started printing purple — is that really a toner problem?

Often, yes. When cyan fades, blue mixtures lose their cyan component and drift toward magenta, so blues go purple and greens turn yellowish. If the shift appeared gradually across many jobs rather than suddenly on one file, a tiring cyan cartridge is the likely cause, and checking its gauge will confirm it.

Will the machine keep working in black if the cyan runs completely dry?

For black-only work, generally yes — the machine can keep printing and copying in monochrome with a color cartridge empty. Color jobs will pause until cyan is replaced, though, and on a shared floor that usually means someone's deck waits. Replacing at the low warning instead of at empty avoids the standoff.

What if this cyan cartridge underperforms or arrives damaged?

Send it back — returns are free within the first year, and the cartridge is backed by a one-year warranty from the day it arrives. The complete policy is posted on our shipping and returns page. Shipments originate from warehouses in IL, PA, GA, and CA, so a replacement is rarely more than a few days away.
