Frequently Asked Questions

We are setting up a C6000 on a new floor — is starting with a full set the right move?

Usually, yes. A fresh installation or a machine arriving with unknown toner levels is the cleanest case for a complete set: all four cartridges start from full, your reorder dates line up from day one, and nobody inherits a predecessor's half-empty colors. It is also the simplest way to stock a new supply cabinet in a single order.

What is actually inside this set, and what does it save?

Four cartridges — black (842279) rated at 33,000 pages, plus cyan (842282), magenta (842281), and yellow (842280) at 22,500 pages each. Bought individually they total $425.81; the set is $370.35, saving $55.46, which is close to the price of half a color cartridge returned to your budget.

The set is named for the C6000 — will it serve the other model in the family?

Yes. Every cartridge in the set is the standard supply for the entire Ricoh IM C4500 and IM C6000 platform, so the four-pack serves any machine in that family, not only the model in the listing title. Offices running both family models can hold one common set of stock for the whole fleet.

The four colors will not empty on the same day — does that undermine the set?

No. Black is rated for 33,000 pages against 22,500 for each color, so the colors will cycle first and black will follow later; that is normal for this platform. Replace each cartridge as it empties and keep the rest sealed — the set is a supply reserve, not a synchronized swap.

Must all four cartridges go into the machine as soon as the box arrives?

Not at all. Install only what the machine actually needs and leave the remainder sealed in a cool, dry place. Unopened toner stores well, so the set can cover several replacement cycles across months without any shelf-life concern under normal office conditions.

If a single cartridge from the set proves faulty, what happens?

Only that cartridge is dealt with — the set does not travel back as a unit. Each of the four carries its own one-year warranty and free returns within that year, as described on our shipping and returns page. Shipments leave from IL, PA, GA, or CA warehouses.
