Frequently Asked Questions

Our reds look orange and skin tones look sunburned — is magenta the problem?

Very likely, yes. Magenta is the foundation of every red, pink, and flesh tone your machine prints, so as it fades, reds slide toward orange and faces take on an odd, blotchy cast. Check the toner gauge to confirm, but that particular color shift is magenta's signature almost every time.

How many pages should we realistically get from this cartridge?

The rating is up to 22,500 pages at standard coverage, priced at $98.21 — roughly $0.0044 per page. Photo-heavy and marketing work lays down far more toner per page than text, so a design or admissions office will see fewer pages than an office printing mostly documents with small color accents.

Does this magenta cartridge fit both the C4502 and the C5502?

It does. This magenta is part of the high-yield color family made for Ricoh Aficio MP C4502 and MP C5502, and it installs in either model on the platform, although this listing is titled for the C4502. Worth knowing: a standard-yield magenta also exists for these machines, so if you are matching a previous order, confirm you want this 22,500-page high-yield version.

Will replacing magenta alone fix our color balance?

In most cases, yes — the machine recalibrates after a cartridge change, and healthy cyan and yellow cartridges will blend correctly with the fresh magenta. If colors still look off after a few test pages, run the machine's built-in color calibration from the maintenance menu before suspecting the cartridge.

What protection comes with this cartridge?

A full 1-year warranty, plus free returns for one year if anything about it disappoints — leaking, streaking, or output that never looks right. The step-by-step process lives on our shipping and returns page, and our team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

Can we keep printing in black while we wait for magenta to arrive?

Yes — set the job to black-and-white and the machine will keep producing documents with the black cartridge alone. Color jobs will wait, but everyday paperwork does not have to. Orders leave from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and you can find the matching colors on our Ricoh toner page.
