Frequently Asked Questions

Our black cartridge still has plenty left, but the colors are finished — does a color-only set make sense?

It is exactly the situation this set is built for. Black toner typically outlasts the colors on this platform — the black cartridge is rated at 31,000 pages against 22,500 for each color — so there is a long stretch in every cycle where only the colors need attention. This set restocks cyan, magenta and yellow together and leaves the healthy black alone.

What does the three-color set save over buying the colors one at a time?

The cyan, magenta and yellow singles total $288.94. The set is $251.95, which saves $36.99 and works out to about $83.98 per color cartridge — below every color single in the family, including the least expensive one.

Which printers do these three color cartridges fit?

They are the high-yield cyan, magenta and yellow for Ricoh Aficio MP C4502 and MP C5502, and they serve both models on that platform. A standard-yield family exists for the same machines, so if both kinds pass through your supply closet, check the rating on the box — these are the 22,500-page high-yield colors.

All three colors carry the same rating — should they be replaced together, or one by one?

Either works. The equal 22,500-page ratings mean the colors tend to fade in the same general window, and swapping all three at once restores balanced color in a single visit. But each cartridge is independent, so if one color clearly empties first, replacing just that one wastes nothing.

What if one of the three colors prints badly after installation?

Give it a few calibration pages; color density sometimes needs a short run to settle after a swap. If a defect remains, that cartridge alone is covered by our 1-year warranty and returns are free for a full year — you never have to send back the two colors that work. The process is explained on our shipping and returns page.

When would the four-cartridge set be a better buy than this one?

When the black gauge is also near the bottom. This color set assumes your black has real life left in it; if black is about to run out too, the full set that includes it is the cheaper way to restock everything at once. If you are unsure, our support team can talk it through Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
