Frequently Asked Questions

Why would we keep a second 31,000-page cartridge on the shelf?

Because even a high-yield cartridge runs out on its own schedule, and it rarely picks a convenient moment. With 62,000 pages of black toner across the two cartridges, a spare on the shelf means the swap takes two minutes instead of becoming a rush order and a stalled workgroup. At a combined $138.07, you also pay $69.04 per cartridge instead of $78.28 bought one at a time — $18.49 saved.

How should we store the spare cartridge until we need it?

Leave it sealed in its bag, stored flat in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Toner cartridges keep well for a long time stored this way; just rotate stock so the older cartridge goes into the machine first when the current one empties.

Does this two-pack fit both the C4502 and the C5502?

Yes. These are the high-yield black cartridges for Ricoh Aficio MP C4502 and MP C5502, and either cartridge in the pack works in both models on that platform, though this listing names the C4502. To be transparent: the platform also takes a standard-yield cartridge family, and this pack is the high-yield option, which is why each unit is rated at 31,000 pages.

Can we split the two cartridges between two different machines?

Absolutely — each cartridge is individually sealed and individually warrantied, so there is no requirement to run them back to back in the same copier. Many offices put one in each of two machines and reorder when the first spare is used up, which keeps a natural reorder signal.

What if one cartridge in the pack turns out to be defective?

You are not stuck returning the whole pack. Each cartridge carries our 1-year warranty on its own, and returns are free for a full year — the details are on our shipping and returns page. Reach out, tell us which unit failed, and we will replace that cartridge.

Is a two-pack the right size for a small office?

For a single machine printing a few thousand black pages a month, two high-yield cartridges can represent well over a year of supply, which is fine since sealed toner stores well. If your volume is genuinely light, a single cartridge may be the simpler buy; the full range is on our Ricoh page.
