Frequently Asked Questions

What does magenta actually do in my color prints?

Magenta is the cartridge behind reds, pinks, purples and warm skin tones — and behind the rich oranges it builds together with yellow. If your SP C430DN produces sales flyers, real-estate sheets, event posters or anything with people in it, magenta is working on almost every page. When it runs low, reds turn orange-brown and photos start to look sunburned or flat. This cartridge is rated for 24,000 pages, so one replacement restores the full warm half of the color range for a long stretch of printing.

Is this the right cartridge for my machine?

This magenta cartridge is built for the Ricoh SP C430DN, where it is the 24,000-page color cartridge. It contains magenta only — cyan, yellow and black are separate cartridges, and the black for this printer is sold separately. Ricoh uses similar cartridge shapes across several color models, so matching the model name on your machine to this listing is the safest check before you order.

How much printing will I get from 24,000 pages?

The rating is measured at 5% page coverage, the industry standard. A text document with a small color logo might use less magenta than that; a full-page photo or a flyer with a red background uses a great deal more. In practice, a small office printing a few dozen color pages a day can expect a cartridge to last the better part of a year or more, while a design or marketing workspace will cycle through it sooner. Think of 24,000 pages as a comparison yardstick between cartridges, not a counter the printer enforces.

What is the per-page cost on this cartridge?

Priced at $86.88 across 24,000 rated pages, magenta comes to roughly 0.36 cents per page — a fraction of what outsourced color printing charges for a single sheet. Replacing magenta on time also protects print quality: pushing a cartridge well past its rating is what produces the dull, muddy reds that make in-house materials look cheap next to a competitor's.

How should I store a spare cartridge?

Keep it sealed in its bag, flat, in a cool dry cupboard away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Toner does not dry out the way ink does, so an unopened cartridge waits patiently until you need it. When you install it, a gentle rock side to side before fitting helps distribute the toner evenly for consistent color from the first page. If anything is wrong with a cartridge, it is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — the details are on our shipping and returns page.

Who do I talk to if I need help choosing or troubleshooting?

Our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST. Orders ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, so replacements travel from whichever site is practical for your delivery address. If your prints show a magenta cast or one color missing entirely, tell us what the pages look like — that usually points straight to whether it is the cartridge or a machine setting.
