Frequently Asked Questions

Why keep a second black cartridge on the shelf for a machine that only holds one?

Because the machine gives you very little warning relative to how fast a busy department prints. The low-toner alert can turn into an empty cartridge in the middle of a deadline run, and a departmental MFP sitting idle stops everyone's work, not just one person's. With the second cartridge already in the supply cabinet, the swap takes a minute and ordering the next pair becomes a routine task instead of an emergency.

What does the two-pack save against buying singles back to back?

Two single cartridges at $79.94 come to $159.88; this pair is $141.39, so you keep $18.49 and bring the effective price down to $70.70 per cartridge. That is a real discount for toner you were going to use anyway — this platform's black cartridge is a consumable with a 59,000-page combined horizon, not a speculative stockpile.

How far do 59,000 combined pages stretch across a department?

Between the cartridge in the machine and the one on the shelf, you are covered for up to 59,000 black pages at the standard rating. A department printing 4,000 black pages a month is looking at well over a year before both are gone. Heavy copy use counts against that total too, since copies print from the same black cartridge.

Is this pair correct for our C3003 or C3503?

Yes — this is a two-pack of the 841813 black cartridge made for the Ricoh Aficio MP C3003/C3503 color MFP platform: Aficio MP C3003, Aficio MP C3004, Aficio MP C3503 and Aficio MP C3504 The listing names the C3003 family, but the cartridge itself is shared across the platform, so the pair serves any machine on that list, not only the model in the page title.

Does the spare lose anything sitting sealed in the cabinet for months?

Kept sealed in its packaging, away from heat and direct sunlight, a toner cartridge waits patiently — toner is a dry powder, not an ink, so it does not dry out or expire on office timescales. Store the spare flat in a normal supply cabinet and it will perform the same the day you open it as the day it arrived.

How does the protection work when one cartridge is installed now and the other months later?

Both cartridges carry a one-year warranty, and returns on compatible cartridges from us are free for a year, so a problem with either one is handled on its own terms — you never have to send back the good cartridge to sort out the bad one. Full details sit on our shipping & returns page.
