Frequently Asked Questions

What does one printed page actually cost with this cartridge?

At $45.24 for a rated 8,300 pages, the math works out to roughly 0.55 cents per page for black output. That rating assumes the standard 5% page coverage the industry measures with, so dense, text-heavy pages will land somewhat below it and light memos somewhat above. For everyday office documents it is a realistic planning number.

How long will 8,300 pages last in a typical small office?

It depends entirely on monthly volume. An office printing around 500 pages a month can expect well over a year from one cartridge, while a busier desk at 2,000 pages a month will finish it in about four months. Black also carries every page of text your machine produces, so it empties faster than the headline number sometimes suggests.

Which machines does this cartridge actually fit?

This is the Ricoh 841295 black cartridge for the Aficio MP C300/C400 color MFP family — Lanier LD130C, Lanier LD130CSR, Lanier LD140C, Lanier LD140CSR, Lanier MP C401, Lanier MP C401SR, Savin C230, Savin C230SR, Savin C240, Savin C240SR, Savin MP C401, Savin MP C401SR, Aficio MP C300, Aficio MP C300SR, Aficio MP C400, Aficio MP C400SR and Aficio MP C401. The listing names a specific model, but the cartridge itself is a platform part: any machine in that family takes the same 841295, so ordering by your model's name is just how the listing is titled, not a different cartridge.

My color cartridges still show toner left — why is black already empty?

Because black does the heavy lifting on nearly every page. Text, letterheads, forms and the dark tones inside color graphics all come from the black cartridge, and in this family black is rated at 8,300 pages against 10,000 for each color. It is completely normal for black to need replacing one or more times between color changes.

Where will my order ship from, and how fast?

Clever Supplies ships from four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California — so your cartridge leaves from the location closest to you. That keeps transit times short for most of the country. If you have a question before or after ordering, support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

What protection do I have if the cartridge gives me trouble?

Every compatible cartridge we sell is covered by a one-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year as well — the full terms are on our shipping and returns page. If print quality drops or the cartridge fails early, contact us and we will make it right.
