Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a 6,500-page cartridge actually last?

It depends entirely on how much black your office puts on paper. At roughly 250 pages a month, one cartridge carries you past the two-year mark. At 1,000 pages a month — a busy small office — expect about six and a half months. The 6,500-page rating assumes standard 5% page coverage, so dense documents with heavy black fills will finish it sooner, while everyday memos and invoices track close to the rating.

What am I really paying per page?

At $57.94 for a 6,500-page rating, the math works out to about 0.89 cents per page. We will be straight with you: that is not the lowest per-page figure in the Ricoh line-up, because this compact printer was designed around a modest-yield cartridge rather than a high-volume one. What the price buys is the correct cartridge for this machine, kept in stock and ready to ship — not a rock-bottom page rate, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up.

Which printer does this cartridge fit?

This is the black cartridge for Ricoh SP C252DN. If your machine is a different model in the SP C range, match the cartridge code on your current cartridge before ordering, since neighboring models in the series do not all take the same cartridge.

Can I replace just the black and leave the color cartridges in?

Yes. Each color lives in its own cartridge and can be changed on its own schedule. When black runs out, swap only the black — the cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges stay where they are and keep working. There is no need to refresh the whole set because one color finished first.

What happens if the cartridge prints streaky or arrives damaged?

Every cartridge we sell is covered by a 1-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year as well. If a cartridge arrives damaged or starts producing streaks, faded patches or blotches partway through its life, contact us and we will put it right under the warranty rather than leaving you to absorb the cost of a bad unit. Full terms are on our shipping and returns page.

How quickly will it get here, and who do I call with questions?

Orders ship from whichever of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — can get the cartridge to you fastest. If anything about the order needs a human, our support team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
