Frequently Asked Questions

What does running low on magenta do to our prints?

Magenta is the backbone of reds, pinks, and natural skin tones, so as it fades those colors wash out first — reds drift orange, faces look yellow and flat. Black text stays perfectly sharp, which is why a fading magenta often goes unnoticed until someone prints a photo or a presentation. If your color pages look warm and dull while text is crisp, magenta is the likely culprit.

What kinds of jobs burn through magenta fastest?

Photographs, marketing flyers, and anything with large areas of red, pink, or purple. The 2,300-page rating assumes light coverage, so a run of full-color brochures can use magenta several times faster than the rating suggests. On a small platform like this one, a single heavy color project can take a visible bite out of the cartridge.

Is $61.64 reasonable for a 2,300-page color cartridge?

It works out to about 2.68 cents per page, and the straight answer is that this is the going economics for the SP C250 platform — compact printers use small cartridges, and small cartridges cost more per page. Our compatible version delivers the rated yield at a lower purchase price than the name-brand equivalent; the per-page figure itself is a property of the machine's design.

Will it work in our machine?

Yes — the 407541 magenta is the standard magenta across the Ricoh SP C250DN and SP C252DN platform. Our listing names the SP C250DN; the SP C252DN and the rest of the family use this same cartridge.

Do I need a spare magenta on hand?

If you print color for customers or events, keeping one sealed spare is cheap insurance, because color work usually cannot wait two days for a delivery. If your color printing is occasional, reorder when the low-toner warning appears instead — orders leave from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia, or California warehouses and typically arrive within a few business days.

How am I covered if the cartridge disappoints?

A one-year warranty stands behind it, with free returns during that first year as spelled out on our shipping and returns page. Faded output from day one, streaking, or a leak means a replacement or your money back — just reach out and we will make it right.
